The nearby town of Bala also offers independent shops, cafés and traditional Welsh pubs, making it a fantastic day trip.

2. Llyn Padarn
Nestled at the foot of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), Llyn Padarn is one of the most picturesque lakes in North Wales.

The nearby village of Llanberis is packed with attractions including the National Slate Museum, mountain railway and numerous cafés. It’s also one of the main starting points for climbing Snowdon.

3. Llyn Brenig
For nature lovers, Llyn Brenig is hard to beat.

It’s particularly beautiful in autumn when the surrounding forests burst into colour.

4. Llyn Celyn
Driving along the A4212 between Bala and Trawsfynydd, you’ll discover the striking blue waters of Llyn Celyn.

Although it’s less developed than some of the region’s other lakes, that’s part of its charm. It’s the perfect place to stop for photographs or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
5. Llyn Geirionydd
